We relish living ‘the good life’ and embrace self-sufficiency. We keep our carbon tread to a minimum by using our own walled garden produce, supporting neighbouring farms and local producers for everything else. Our food waste is composted and transferred to National Trust gardens including Exeter’s Killerton House.
We aim to be the greenest operator in our field by ensuring sustainability is at the heart of what we do. We compact our cardboard in a bespoke hot-pink baler before it is collected by a local Devon recycler. Our glass bottles are crushed in a hot-pink bespoke crusher! We heat the house with sustainable, renewable energy through our biomass boiler. We use water butts to water the plants and trees within our walled garden. It goes without saying that the cleaning products we use throughout the house are all environmentally friendly.
We develop and invest in our team to cultivate a culture where our people are proud and happy to work. Accredited training is promoted, and we give our apprentices the very best support to get the most out of their vocational qualification. There’s nothing we love more than celebrating our successes through regular team parties and plenty of praise, so everyone feels rewarded and valued for their hard-work.
Deer Park plays an active role in the local community. We support countless charitable and community events through monetary and in-kind donations, as well as offering our venue and team.
To ensure our money circulates within the Devon economy, we choose local suppliers and service providers. This gives us great relationships with our suppliers and clear traceability within our supply chain.
