Mark Godfrey, Managing Director

With 25 years’ experience overseeing hotels, restaurants and country estates, Mark Godfrey’s passion for hospitality shines through the whole team.

John Spiller-Jones, General Manager

John Spiller-Jones started working at Deer Park in 2003 as a kitchen porter before working his way through the teams. With a love of the country house and its ethos and care, he progressed within the business until he secured his dream job of becoming General Manager. Through this role, John and Mark have grown the workforce from 20 to 55 members of staff. John works closely with Mark to manage the private house and ensure that guests are delighted with the level of care they receive at Deer Park.

Events team

Georgie Spiller-Jones and Connie Paul have years of experience in throwing countless large extravaganzas, exclusive launches and corporate gatherings, no request is too large and no detail too small. They are brimming with creative ideas to make your event a timeless talking point.

Weddings team

From the initial tour of the estate to the big day itself, Sophie Brooke and Kate Wilkinson will help bring your unique vision to life. They go above and beyond to ensure that every wedding day goes without a hitch, so the bride and groom can relax and enjoy the best day of their lives.

Gardening team

Walking around our 80-acre kingdom, you’re bound to meet one of our six gardeners who maintain the estate and transform our grounds into magical spaces. Headed up by Olly Forster, the team have restored our walled garden that produces a bounty of vegetables, fruit and herbs for the kitchen.

Meet the Chef

Richard Still (a.k.a. ‘The Bear’)Classically trained yet true to his roots, adds his culinary flair to everything we do, from breakfasts to fine dining.

“The team here is full of passion and enthusiasm,” says Richard. "The setting has an abundance of produce and inspiration, with so many of the finest, freshest ingredients available here on the estate.”

Working closely with Estate Manager Olly Forster, Richard determines the daily menu after looking to our our walled garden and foraging on the grounds, which have everything from local game to the apple harvest provided by our heritage orchard.
