Food is at the heart of our country house. Our kitchen team are passionate about serving plates of memorable, mouth-watering cuisine reflected in our double AA-rosette award.
There’s something for everyone, from exquisite four-course tasting menus, to melt-in-the-mouth pizzas cooked in our outdoor clay oven, or perhaps a slow-roasted succulent Devonshire pig cooked on a spit.
Our team of chefs rely on the local area for ingredients; fruit, vegetables and herbs are grown in Deer Park’s own walled garden, fishy highlights on the menu can be credited to the nearby shore. Every scrap on the menu is prepared in-house.
Our handsome Loxton’s dining room offers exquisite cuisine and attentive service. With double AA rosette dining, countryside views, fabulous artwork by Margaret Loxton, this is a destination for locals and foodie visitors alike.
Indulge in a sumptuous selection of freshly cut sandwiches, delicate pastries and homemade scones with lashings of clotted cream and compote. All accompanied by a spot of tea or a glass of fizz.

Meet our head chef...
Richard Still (a.k.a. ‘The Bear’)
Classically trained yet true to his roots, adds his culinary flair to everything we do, from breakfasts to fine dining.
“The team here is full of passion and enthusiasm,” says Richard. "The setting has an abundance of produce and inspiration, with so many of the finest, freshest ingredients available here on the estate.”
Working closely with Estate Manager Olly Forster, Richard determines the daily menu after looking to our our walled garden and foraging on the grounds, which have everything from local game to the apple harvest provided by our heritage orchard.
